Holiday concert: The Community Chorus Bells Are Ringing Holiday Concert is scheduled for 3 p.m. Dec. 11 at the Ehlers Event Center, 8150 Knott Ave. The event is free. Guests are encouraged to bring nonperishable food to be donated to local families in need. Information: 714-562-3860.

Winter wonderland: Knotts Berry Farm transforms into Knotts Merry Farm for the holiday season. Through Jan. 8, patrons can celebrate the season by hopping on an attraction, watching live entertainment, getting creative at a Christmas crafts fair or indulging in delicious holiday food. The Merry Christmas, Snoopy! Ice Show is scheduled weekly through Jan. 8. Information: knotts.com.

FULLERTON

Santa landing: Santa Claus will arrive via helicopter as part of Santa Day on Dec. 11. Hell hand out candy canes and toys and pose for photos. Airplanes will be on display at the 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. event at Fullerton Municipal Airport. Santa arrives at 11:30 a.m. and stays until 1:30 p.m. Information: 562-587-4050

Radio show: STAGEStheatre presents the Its a Wonderful Life A Live Radio Play. This holiday story is performed as a 1940s radio broadcast on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays through Dec. 18. Tickets are $18-$20. Stages is at 400 E. Commonwealth Ave. Information: 714-525-4484 or stagesoc.org

The Nutcracker: For the 25th year, the Nouveau Chamber Ballet, based in Fullerton, will present The Nutcracker. Performances are 8 p.m. Dec. 17 and 2 p.m. Dec. 18 at the Fullerton College Campus Theatre. Information: nouveauchamberballet.com

Holiday festival: The Muckenthaler Cultural Centers annual holiday festival will take place from noon to 4 p.m. on Dec. 18. Enjoy the holiday season with tours of the mansion and art gallery and an arts and crafts fair. Vendors will sell food and exclusive craft beer. For kids, there will be free art workshops and a childrens play area. Also, Santa Claus will make an appearance at The Muck, 1201 W. Malvern Ave. Information: themuck.org.

New year: The First Night Fullerton New Years Eve Celebration runs from 7 p.m. to midnight Dec. 31. This is the popular events 25th year. Admission is free, and the evening will feature childrens activities, food and merchandise booths and live music, all punctuated with a fireworks show at midnight.
